A packaged food brand, without the packaging. Zero-Waste is baked into everything we do; making it easy for parents to reduce single use packaging while feeding their kids real food is one of our key goals. 

But getting all the way to Zero Waste is a partnership between you, our beloved Snacksters, and us, Snacks Solved. We promise to do everything we can to continue to reduce waste on your behalf - and you can close the loop on your end with how you dispose of the packaging. 

For example, we’ve made our boxes of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. When they have served their purpose, you put them in your municipal recycling bin, and they rejoin the cardboard supply. Not every town in America has recycling facilities, however we have chosen the most recyclable shipping materials possible to ensure the widest possible coverage. How to Deal with Shipping Materials

Both of our shipping boxes are made from 100% post-consumer recycled waste. Simply break these guys down to flat and place them in your recycling bin. The rest of the materials and your job at disposal is detailed below. You are both a rad and important part of the zero-waste team! 

  • Snack Solution System Box

    Inside you’ll find:

    3 PE over bags. Their job? to ensure the dispensers and containers stay clean and safe on their journey to your kitchen. These guys are 100% recyclable - put it in your recycling bin!

    1 piece of recycled and recyclable paper with the instructions on how to easily assemble and care for your dispensers and containers. Put this guy in the paper recycling bin to rejoin the paper supply stream! 

  • Monthly Snack Box / Sampler Box

    Inside you’ll find:

    3 polypropylene, 100% recyclable bags. Fully recyclable.

    1 sheet of recycled cardboard packing tissue - 100% recycled and recyclable. Without this piece, the cookies did crumble… and we just couldn't send you crumbs! Reuse this for your own shipping, or put it in the recycling bin.

Containers & Dispensers

We accept responsibility for the entire life cycle of Snacks Solved products - and that includes the system itself. We have crafted the components to withstand years of family use, and hopefully multiple families. That’s step one of our Extended Producer Responsibility. 

Step two? After six months of operation, we will open a secondary marketplace where consumers can sell their used infrastructure pieces directly. 

And finally, once the containers and dispensers have reached the end of their useful lives, we have a partnership with Terracycle to recycle them.  

What’s Next?

We’re working on biodegradable bags for the snacks and quantifying the carbon output from our shipping so we can correctly offset our activities. And once we reach 1000 members, we have a very exciting announcement of which environmental organization we’ll be partnering with to remove packaging from nature. The more we grow, the bigger positive impact we have! Let’s do this.
